The viburnum opulus, or the Gelderse rose, gives beautiful white flowers in the period May, June. After the flowers, bunches of red berries will develop that will hang on for a long time, even into the winter. The autumn colour in the leaves of the ornamental shrub is orange. The plant can grow quite long without pruning, up to 300 cm.
