Here's what you need to know about this Food Forest package. The fruit trees are supplied in this package as root stock, the fruit plants come in pots. The following fruit trees and fruit plants are included in this Mix:
1x Trio apple: 'Trio' is a popular apple tree that produces three different varieties of apples in one tree. The tree is hardy and grows well in almost any soil type. Harvested around autumn, the apples have a unique flavour and texture.
1x Trio Pear: The Trio Pear is a unique fruit tree that produces three different varieties of pears in one tree. The pears are soft and juicy and have a delicious taste. The tree grows well in full sun and is hardy.
1x Baya marisa: The Baya is an early cherry, producing deliciously sweet and juicy cherries. This tree grows well in almost any soil type and is hardy.
2x Cherry bush: The Cherry bush is a flowering and fruit-bearing shrub that is an asset to any food forest. The bright blossoms appear in early spring, followed by the cherries in summer.

The apples are grafted on a special slow-growing rootstock so that the tree does not grow too big and produces fruit quickly. This tree produces three different varieties of apples: Jonagold, Gala and Golden Delicious.

1x A new apple launched in 2011, the apple Baya® Marisa is a stunning variety with delicious juicy red flesh with a fantastic 'old-fashioned' taste - just like 'Rosy Apple' candy! This apple is very special because of its unique strawberry-red flesh, all the way to the core! From fragrant spring blossom to juicy succulent red flesh in October, this Baya® Marisa will work just as well in this food forest. This tasty hand apple is also suitable for making apple pie, apple juice and in salads, where its beautiful red colour is preserved. In spring, the blossoms are also red, and the sprouting shoots have a red leaf colour. It is perfectly hardy and easy to grow.
2x Cherry bushes, Unique products: the Prunus 'Athos'® and Prunus 'Porthos'® are the very first cherry bushes that can be planted in pots or open ground. The cherry bushes produce many delicious, very dark red cherries that can be harvested in June/July, depending on weather conditions. The cherries are medium-sized and sweet-tasting. Athos® and Porthos® result from some 60 years of cross-breeding research. As far as we know, it is the only cherry plant in the world that is on its own root without breeding and formed as a bush.
3x The strawberry fruit of the Fragaria x ananassa 'Framberry' are deliciously juicy and taste of both strawberry and raspberry, hence the name. White flowers in spring, and the plants grow no taller than 30cm. Fruits can be harvested from May to September. Strawberries do best in fertile soil and can also be kept in a pot.
3x Rubus illecebrosus, that's what they call this plant and it originated in Japan. It is a flavourful variety of strawberry-raspberry that grows soil-covering. The fruits resemble raspberry but are larger, juicy and freshly sweet. Both the brilliant red fruits and the beautiful white flowers also give this plant high ornamental value. The plant does not grow taller than 1 to 1.5 metres and is hardy to -25 degrees. There are small thorns on the branches, but the beautiful fruit with its delicious taste more than makes up for this! In winter the plants seem to disappear, but in spring they reappear surprisingly quickly.
2x Still one of the most popular currant species. The Ribes rubrum 'Jonkheer van Tets' is known as a proven and carefree old variety which grows easily. By pruning berries, you can influence the quantity and size of the berries. true pruning to maintain the bush shape and rejuvenate the plant is best done at the end of winter when it is not freezing. This currant is grafted on to a 60cm stem.
1x This red gooseberry Ribes uva-crispa 'Hinnonmaki Rod' is grafted on stem (60cm) and produces delicious juicy red gooseberries, all the way back partly due to the high level of vitamins and antioxidants.
1x The Ribes Uva Crispa 'Invicta' is known as a strong, well-resistant gooseberry with a solid yield. Ribes Uva Crispa 'Invicta' is a gooseberry that flowers in May/June with white-green flowers in hanging clusters that attract bees and butterflies, this gooseberry is self-pollinating. The large green gooseberries of Ribes Uva Crispa 'Invicta' are juicy, sweet and aromatic in flavour and ripen in July.
2x The Sambucus nigra 'Golden Tower' is a particularly beautiful shrub. Also known as the yellow-leaved columnar elder. The name says it all, new yellow leaves slowly change to green leaves. In June, the shrub produces white flowers and black berries. Which brings life to your garden. The plant does not necessarily need to be pruned. In summer and spring, the plant can be shortened to maintain its shape.
