Lonicera caerulea 'Larisa' is also called Mayberry or Honeyberry. Blooms in early spring, so watch out for frost. The Larissa has an elongated sweet and sour berry that is rich in vitamin B and C. Self-pollinating, but with other members of the same species nearby the plant will produce more berries. The blossom is loved by bees and the berries by birds. The shrub is winter hardy and loses its leaves in the autumn. The berry grows on all types of soil, the best location is in the sun or light shade in a moist place.

Discover the delicious Polish variety Lonicera caerulea 'Rebecca', also known as Purple Bounty and Rebecca in North America. The berries have a tart to sweet taste and are large enough (1.5-2.0 cm) to be harvested easily. This hardy shrub can produce over 3kg in its fourth or fifth year of growth and requires pollination from another type of honeyberry. The ideal planting time is in autumn and the shrub flowers in April. Grow it in naturally rich, balanced and fungal soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7 for best results.
