Give your garden a unique look with the special Salix x sepulcralis 'Caradoc', also known as the curly willow. This medium-sized, deciduous tree or shrub has beautifully twisted, yellow-green twigs that give a strikingly graceful effect, even in winter. The long, narrow leaves are also spirally twisted and turn a beautiful yellow in autumn.
Features:
- Maximum growth height: 6 – 10 metres (unpruned).
- Leaf: Green in spring and summer, yellow in autumn.
- Flower color: Yellow, with small white catkins in early spring.
- Pitch: Sun or partial shade.
- Bottom: Moist, well-drained and humus-rich soil, preferably neutral or slightly calcareous.
- Hardiness: Very winter hardy.
The Salix 'Caradoc' is ideal as a solitary tree, but can also be planted in groups, good for ponds and streams. Thanks to its tolerance of coastal conditions and low risk of branch dieback, this curly willow is an excellent choice for a variety of garden styles.
Maintenance tip:
This tree can be pruned in winter to limit its size and enhance the colorful, twisted branches. The cut branches are perfect for flower arrangements or decorations.
A beautiful addition to any garden with a year-round ornamental value!
