Description
Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Red Head', or Lampepoetsersgras, presents itself as a striking appearance in the garden. With beautiful red plumes that rise from July, the flower spikes reach heights of up to 1 meter, while the foliage grows to about 50 cm high. This variety forms generous clumps, which makes it ideal for larger gardens.
What makes this plant really special is the elegant and robust flowering habit. The burgundy-red, brush-like flower spikes contrast beautifully with the fresh green leaves and slowly turn brown-purple during the flowering period. It is striking that these flowers last throughout the winter. This makes the Pennisetum Red Head one of the more impressive and robust varieties within the Lampepoetsersgrassen.
