This evergreen beauty, the Rhododendron 'Catawbiense Grandiflorum', adds a versatile splendor to your garden. Growing up to 2 meters tall and wide, it provides a sturdy addition to your outdoor space.
The flowering period from May to early June enchants with an abundance of lilac-coloured flowers that decorate the garden. This Rhododendron thrives best in semi-shade to sunny spots, and feels at home along forest edges. It treats to its best flowering results in humus-rich, acidic (forest) soil.
Maintenance is simple: pruning is rarely necessary, only removing faded flowers to preserve the plant's energy. If it becomes too large, you can prune back to the old wood. Do not expect flowers the first year, but after that the Rhododendron will bloom profusely again.
