Monarda 'Schneewittchen', also known as Bergamot plant or Hane comb, is a strong and easy perennial that gives your garden a fresh look. From July to August, it blooms with pure white, spiky flowers that contrast nicely with the green bracts. The lanceolate, medium-green leaves smell nicely aromatic and give the plant extra charm. It grows in a clump and becomes a large, mature plant already the year after planting, reaching a height of about 80-100 cm.
This plant likes to be in sun or semi-shade and does well in soil that allows water to pass through but also remains somewhat moist. It is well hardy, so you will enjoy it for years. As the leaves can sometimes suffer from mildew, it is smart to place it in the middle of a border, where it gets some air. Perfect for all kinds of borders or plantings, and it also attracts bees and butterflies, making your garden lively.
In terms of care, it doesn't require much: make sure the soil doesn't get too dry and give it some room to grow. After flowering, you can cut it back for a neat look, if necessary. A simple, white beauty that adds fragrance and colour to your garden!
