This plant usually grows as a large shrub, but can also be grafted as a small tree on a stem. However, due to its slow growth, it will take many years before a true tree form emerges.

- Carrots: Fleshy roots growing both shallow and deep.
- Solitary Plant: Magnolias like to stand alone and do best as solitary plants.
- Second Bloom: This Magnolia may give a second bloom in the summer months.
