Iris Sibirica 'Blue King', also called Siberian Iris or Beardless Iris, is an easy perennial with violet-blue flowers that bloom in June and July. The flowers are smaller than in bearded irises and have a white edge in the centre. The narrow, sword-shaped leaves are blue-green and emerge in spring. The plant grows about 60-80 cm tall and grows in a clump that slowly increases in size.
It likes to stand in sun or semi-shade in soil that is slightly moist, but not too wet. The leaves die off in winter, but grow out again in spring. Well hardy and also useful as a cut flower. A simple plant for some colour in your garden!
