Blackberries belong to the Rosaceae family and are closely related to strawberries and raspberries. They grow on thorny bushes and vary in color from red to purple-black, depending on the variety.

  • Health benefits: Blackberries are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. They contribute to a healthy immune system and promote overall health.
  • Self-pollinating: Most blackberry bushes are self-pollinating, meaning you don't need separate male and female plants for fruiting.
  • Season and Harvest: Blackberries are usually harvested in the summer, depending on the climate and variety. Regular picking promotes continuous production.

  • Plants: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Plant the blackberry bushes about 1.5 metres apart.
